CompuLert Course Description

 
Basic UNIX for CompuLert® Administrators
This half-day course combines lecture and hands-on labs covering basic UNIX skills necessary to install, configure, and maintain the CompuLert Enterprise Management Solution.

Who Should Attend:

CompuLert Administrators who need instruction on UNIX commands and utilities such as the vi editor, or administrators who would like a refresher, should take this course.

Prerequisite Knowledge:

Some familiarity with UNIX Systems and the vi Editor is helpful but not required.

Basic CompuLert® Administration

This intensive 5-day course combines lectures, demonstrations and hands-on work sessions to provide all information necessary for an administrator to understand CompuLert operation, maintain the system, train users and accommodate CompuLert expansion.

Course Objectives:
  • Develop a basic understanding of the CompuLert Enterprise Management System
  • Learn aspects of system management, including operation, user support and system administration
  • Become familiar with CompuLert's command line and graphical interface options
Who Should Attend:

In an intensive 5-day session, this course is designed for personnel who will be responsible for attending to the administration of a production CompuLert Enterprise Management System. Senior CompuLert operators, application system administrators, designated computer operations supervisors, and automatons can benefit from attending this comprehensive treatment of CompuLert.

Prerequisite Knowledge:

Familiarity with UNIX Systems and the vi Editor is strongly encouraged.

Advanced CompuLert® Administration

This intensive 5-day course combines lectures, demonstrations and hands-on work sessions to provide in-depth information about CompuLert and its specialized features. Topics include installing CompuLert, customizing its user interface and exploiting its many special functions.

Course Objectives

  • Understand and author CompuLert-based automation
  • Learn to determine, specify and deploy several monitoring techniques
  • Be able to customize the CompuLert user interface
  • Understand and implement CompuLert security options
  • Understand and extend CompuLert's CPES feature

Who Should Attend

CompuLert systems administrators, user systems administrators and automation analysts are the primary audience for this course. Automation systems analysts and data center technical staff may also find this course beneficial. Attendees should be familiar with CompuLert and its operation.

Prerequisite Knowledge

Completion of a recent CompuLert Basic Administration course or comparable experience.
